Om Nom Nom Cookies

I was first introduced to Om Nom Nom Cookies when Jaime, a friend of mine, was eating their Cranberry Walnut Oatmeal cookie and offered me a piece. All I could say was yum! Om Nom Nom Cookies is definitely an appropriate name for this cookie company. I felt just like the cookie monster from Sesame Street when I gobbled it up. I just had to find out more about this delicious cookie company so I picked Jaime’s brain. Turned out that Head Cookie and Founder Anthea Ponsetti is a personal friend of his. When he told me that all of her cookies were vegan, I was floored! How could a vegan cookie taste so…well…delicious? I definitely can’t wait to get a hold of some more of that Walnut Oatmeal Cookie and I’m excited to try their other flavors too!

C&G: So your cookies are vegan cookies, not vegetarian. I’m sure many people may wonder, what’s the difference between vegetarian and vegan?

AP: Yes, there is at times some confusion. Vegans do not eat any animal product while Vegetarians eat eggs and dairy.

C&G: Your cookies are extremely delicious! Did you go to a culinary school?

AP: Thank you! Yes, I went to Culinary School.

C&G: I tried your Cranberry Walnut Oatmeal and it was amazing! Which cookie is your personal favorite?

AP: I too love the Cranberry Walnut Oatmeal cookie. My personal favorite is the Orange Zested Chocolate Chip.

I have been a vegetarian for over 15 years. I recently became Vegan. I think it is a personal decision that one must make to become Vegan or Vegetarian. I made the decision because I feel that eating a plant based diet is a healthier choice for me and for the environment. ~ Anthea Ponsetti

C&G: Do your cookies have preservatives or are your cookies all natural?

AP: Proud to say no preservatives in my cookies! They contain all natural plant based ingredients.

C&G: What motivated you to get started with your cookie company?

AP: I have always loved baking since an early age and my favorite things to bake are cookies. I decided to start a cookie company after I became Vegan and realized that there weren’t many good baked products on the market.

C&G: Will you only be selling cookies or do you plan to expand with other delicious treats in the future?

AP: For now just cookies but we will be expanding our cookie company and including gluten free cookies.

I’d like to thank Anthea Ponsetti for this interview and you can check out Om Nom Nom Cookies at
